YouTube connection

Connect your own YouTube account.

Release Studio uses Google/YouTube authorisation so it can publish the videos you choose. Your Google password is never entered into Release Studio.

How connection works

  1. Open Release Studio and go to Settings or the Upload stage.
  2. Choose the option to connect YouTube.
  3. Your browser opens Google's authorisation screen.
  4. Sign in to the Google account that owns or manages the YouTube channel you want to use.
  5. Review the permissions shown by Google and approve them if you want Release Studio to publish on your behalf.
  6. Return to Release Studio. The app should show the YouTube connection as active.
Only authorise the Google account and channel you actually intend to publish to. Always review Google's permission screen before approving access.

Why Release Studio asks for access

Uploading a video to your channel requires YouTube account authorisation. Release Studio uses that authorisation for the publishing actions you start from within the app.

Disconnecting

You can remove Release Studio's access from your Google account's connected-app permissions. You may then need to reconnect before the app can upload again.

Troubleshooting

If connection does not complete, confirm that the browser sign-in used the correct Google account, then try the connection again from Release Studio. If the problem continues, contact support@example.com.
